The Drive Difference is the company's mission to elevate exceptional truckers to become better businesspeople and entrepreneurs. The Drive Logistics team and its over 100 years of trucking industry experience are ready to help you become a successful owner operator.
At Drive Logistics we are invested in empowering America’s truckers and providing them the tools to reach their entrepreneurial goals. ‘Drive’ offers comprehensive business solutions for truckers who want to become owner operators, but need support with the day-to-day of starting and running a successful trucking business.
Onboarding Manager Kait Robinett joined Drive Logistics in October 2022 and welcomes owner operators to the Drive Difference each day on the job.
"I work with owner operators to quickly onboard them to Drive Logistics so they can utilize the tools we have for them to make the most money," Kait said.
Drive Logistics' onboarding process begins with filling out an application, running a truckers' motor vehicle record (MVR) and completing a pre-employment screening program (PSP) allowing the company to obtain five years of crash data and three years of roadside inspection data. Potential owner operators will then need to provide a copy of their CDL, medical longform, medical card and also complete a drug screen.
"Every day is different and the phone keeps ringing; I never stop answering questions about owner operators and what they do," Kait said. "Every day I surprise truckers with the opportunities we provide at Drive Logistics and they are blown away by the difference in our company versus any other company that they’ve spoken with."
Documents to Prepare Before Onboarding:
- You will need an IRS 2290 form if the vehicle you plan to use is older than 60 days.
- A truck inspection will be required to become an owner operator.
- If you are planning on using an out of state vehicle, you will need a VIN verification form from the issuing state notarized by a Florida notary, law enforcement officer (any state), or military police officer.
- Prepare your cab card and a copy of your bobtail insurance.
How do you see the trucking industry evolving?
Ideally, I would like to see the industry evolve with the power of the owner operator shifting in their favor and they receive the respect and professionalism they deserve throughout the industry. Autonomous vehicles are on the road, but there will always be a need for professional truckers doing what they do best.
What is the guiding principle that keeps you focused and motivated on your career?
Integrity. I used to work in an industry where integrity was not something held high on the level of values, and that bothered me a lot, and it's ultimately the reason I left the industry. Now, I'm on the right side working with Drive Logistics.
